Which ChinaMedMap pages require review by a qualified clinician, what reviewers check, and how long a review lasts.
What requires medical review
Any page that describes a condition, a treatment, eligibility, risks, evidence or outcomes requires review by a qualified clinician before it can be published. Treatment and condition pages are never opened to search engines without a completed review.
Provider profiles and logistics guides (visas, payment, records, how hospitals work) do not contain clinical guidance and are reviewed editorially against their sources instead.
What reviewers check
- Clinical statements are accurate, current and supported by the cited references.
- Risks and limitations are stated, not just benefits.
- Nothing reads as individual medical advice, a diagnosis or a promise of outcome.
- Claims about availability or regulation in China are separately sourced.
Who reviews
Medical reviewers are clinicians with relevant qualifications. Each reviewed page names its reviewer, their qualifications and the review date. Reviewers do not review content about institutions with which they have a financial relationship without that being disclosed.
Expiry
A medical review is valid for a fixed period. When it expires, or when evidence or regulation changes, the page is flagged. A page whose review has expired is removed from search engines until it has been reviewed again.
Current status
ChinaMedMap has not yet published any treatment or condition pages. We will do so only once medical reviewers have been appointed.
